On Tuesday, October 22, 2019, FEI Rochester will host a panel of four highly- knowledgeable PwC professionals who are ready to share insights that will help both large and small businesses work through tax planning and new accounting pronouncements.
 
Details of the topics are below:
 
Business Trends Update - Discussion on how the landscape of operations are evolving at a rapid pace related to supply chain strategy and complexity management.
 
Tax Update - A review of the continued impacts of tax reform observed during 2019, including a discussion on the outlook of 2020 as new guidance is continuously issued and refined.
 
Accounting Update - Recent accounting, reporting and regulatory issues impacting companies through the remainder of 2019 and into 2020.

Rodger is a director with PwC’s Consumer Markets Operations practice. He has over 10 years of experience in Operations and Supply Chain consulting. Rodger works with clients to transform business and supply chain operations into strategic differentiators. He helps clients align operations to enterprise strategy, customer requirements, and key performance objectives in order to improve customer experience and drive shareholder value. He has worked with clients across Retail, Consumer Products, Food & Beverage, Luxury Goods and Electronics.
 
Rodger earned his MBA from Boston College and BA from Hobart College. He is a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) from APICS.

Matt is Managing Partner and Tax Partner in the Rochester office of PwC. In his 34 years with the firm, Matt has provided tax provision compliance and consultation services for a wide range of multinational corporations. Areas of significant experience include work with midsize public and private organizations, analyzing tax accounting consequences of acquisitions, dispositions, corporate reorganizations. Matt also has experience in assisting companies with issues arising during the transition from privately-held to publicly-traded status.
 
Matt speaks frequently to various groups such as the Tax Executive Institute. Also, he is on the boards of the United Way of Rochester and the Al Sigl Foundation.

Brian is a Tax Partner with over 1​3 years of experience advising large multi-national corporations, both public and private as well as inbounds. He has served various industries including services, metals, and energy. He specializes in ASC740, tax consulting, tax compliance co-sourcing/outsourcing, and tax technologies. Brian also works closely with other lines of service within PwC on many federal, international, and state transactions with a focus on tax planning and cash tax savings.
 
Brian earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh and a Masters of Science in Taxation from Duquesne University. He is a CPA licensed to practice in both Pennsylvania and New York, and is a member of the AICPA.

Tom spent his first ten years at the firm in the Cleveland Private Company Services audit practice and then did a two-year tour in the firm’s National Quality Organization specializing in public company and private company auditing standards and multi-location audits, inventory, and business combinations. After his two-year tour, Tom returned to the Cleveland Private Company Services audit practice where he serves various consumer, industrial products, and services clients. Tom’s client experience includes leading audits through complex technical accounting including business combinations, debt modifications/extinguishments, stock-based compensation, and income taxes. Additionally, Tom has assisted clients with the implementation of new accounting standards.
 
Tom has served in the Chief Auditor Network for the last year presenting to the audit practice in the Lake Erie market. Also, Tom in on the board of Towards Employment, whose mission is to empower individuals to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency through employment.
